Greater Portland Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
A Collaborative Group of Independent Therapists
Due to high demand as well as the impact of COVID-19, our group waitlists are currently on hold. Adolescent group will begin taking referrals in May for groups starting in October 2022

DBT Treatment
As collaborating professionals, we here at Greater Portland DBT provide all necessary aspects of intensive DBT treatment. This includes DBT-trained clinicians facilitating weekly skills groups for adults and adolescents, weekly individual therapy, and medication management.
Skills Groups
Both the adolescent and adult programs require participants to be signed up for weekly skills classes as well as individual therapy with a therapist on our DBT consultation team. If you are already connected with an individual therapist, you will need to transition to a GPDBT therapist for the duration of the skills group. You may return to your previous therapist after you have completed the program.
Skills groups have ongoing enrollment. You will be put on a wait list if there is no room currently and will be contacted as space becomes available.
Adult Program
Greater Portland DBT currently offering an online DBT skills group on Tuesdays from 4:30-6pm. Each class is 90 minutes long and takes between 26 to 52 weeks to complete. The skills modules of core mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance are all covered during the course.
In respect for the fidelity of the model, it is required that participants in the DBT skills class work with a Greater Portland DBT therapist who can provide the individual portion of DBT therapy. Most private insurances are accepted. A $200 refundable deposit is required at the onset of skills training. This deposit will be returned once the DBT skills training is completed.

Individual Therapy
As part of your treatment, you will be assigned to an individual therapist specialized in DBT who is a part of our consultation team. Individual therapy with a skilled DBT clinician is important to help you integrate and apply what you are learning in the skills group to your life outside of therapy.
For individual therapy, insurance coverage will vary depending on which insurance companies each therapist contracts with. If no therapist takes your insurance, self pay is an available option.
